BAFöG - Adjustment of the performance requirements for certification according to § 48 - valid from 1/2025

At the end of October 2024, the KIT faculties were asked by the management of the Department of Educational Support of the KA Student Union to check the performance requirements in their degree programs for the certificate according to § 48 to see whether they match the central requirements*) and, if not, to adjust them accordingly. At the same time, corresponding performance requirements should be defined for all new degree programs and - new - also for all KIT Master's degree programs.

At the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, the Examination Board is responsible for this task. During the review, it was determined that the previous performance requirement did not meet the central requirements. It was far too low and therefore had to be adjusted.

The Examination Board has set new minimum values (measured in credit points) that must be achieved after the respective semesters in order to receive a positive certificate in accordance with Section 48. They are based on the average duration of study before the Corona years. And they apply immediately to the TVWL, Digital Economics and Industrial Engineering degree programs. (In the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in Business Informatics, a corresponding adjustment is expected in the coming weeks).
