Important information on starting your studies
Here you will find the most important questions and answers about starting your studies at the KIT Faculty of Business Administration and Economics in the summer semester 2024.
When do the lectures start next semester?
KIT provides the semester and lecture times centrally. The semester period describes the duration of the respective semester. The lecture period, on the other hand, describes the time during which regular lectures (in attendance) take place. The examination phase begins after the end of the lecture period.

Examination dates
All examination dates relevant to you are listed here.
Information on registering for examinations at the KIT Faculty of Business Administration and Economics can be found here. The registration period for exams varies depending on the exam, but usually takes place in the second half of the semester.

ILIAS is a digital learning platform on which lecture materials are made available by the lecturers.

Study abroad
As a WIWI student, you have the opportunity to go abroad. The faculty offers many different exchange programs. It is important to inform yourself early so as not to miss any application deadlines!
Registration for language courses/university sports/key qualification
In addition to the regular lectures, you also have the opportunity to take part in language courses, courses on key qualifications or university sports.

Study places in the KIT library
Student study spaces in the KIT library can sometimes be used without reservation and sometimes only with prior reservation. Please inform yourself about the current regulations directly on the KIT library website.

O-phase
The orientation phase (O-Phase) is the perfect start to your studies at the KIT Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. For one week, the focus is on getting to know fellow students, the KIT Faculty of Business and Economics and KIT itself.
The O-Phase is an offer for all students in their first Bachelor's semester and is organized by the WiWi student council for students of Industrial Engineering and Digital Economics.

The Forum Wirtschaftsinformatik organizes the O-Phase for students of Business Informatics. For students starting their studies in the winter semester 2024/25, the O-Phase will take place from October 14-18, 2024. Further information here.
MO-Days
The Master Orientation Days (MO Days) are the perfect start to your studies at the KIT Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. The focus here is on getting to know fellow students, the KIT Faculty of Business and Economics and KIT.
The MO-Days are an offer for all students of the KIT study programs: Industrial Engineering, Business Informatics, Technical Economics and Business Mathematics in the first Master's semester and are organized by the WiWi student council .

Preliminary courses at the MINT-Kolleg Baden-Württemberg
Refresh your knowledge of math, chemistry or computer science in the preliminary courses at the MINT-Kolleg Baden-Württemberg before starting your studies and get to know the working techniques at a university.
For the B.Sc. degree courses in Industrial Engineering and Management and Digital Economics, participation in the mathematics preliminary course is particularly recommended.
