We are one of the largest and most renowned training centers for students of Industrial Engineering and Management in Germany. With a focus on inderdisciplinary research and study in the field of industrial engineering, informatics and economics, we are contributing to finding sustainable solutions to today’s most pressing challenges.

The degree programs Industrial Engineering and Management (BSc and MSc), Information Systems (BSc and MSc, jointly with KIT-Department of Informatics), Digital Economics (BSc and MSc), as well as Business Mathematics (MSc, jointly with KIT-Department of Mathematics) provide a broad and diverse learning environment for students.

International plenary discussion on „Science and Society in South Africa"

The team around Professor Ingrid Ott at ECON cordially invites you to a panel discussion on Wednesday, June 26 from 14:00-16:00 on the topic "Science and Society in South Africa". Scientists from South Africa, the Netherlands, France and Germany will discuss the complex relationship between scientific progress and social development in South Africa. The event will take place both in person and online. Registration is requested.

WiWo Ranking 2024

In the current ranking of Wirtschaftswoche, KIT once again came in third place in the Industrial Engineering and Management degree program. HR managers at German companies, thus confirm, that KIT-graduates in Industrial Engineering and Management are in high demand on the job market. KIT also recently achieved very good results in the QS World University Ranking and is ranked 102nd worldwide.

Dialogue Day | 17th July

On July 17, the KIT Department of Economics and Management organizing the "Dialogue Day - Business & Technology". A very varied program awaits you: insights into current student projects, contact with companies, presentation of current research projects, keynote speech and presentation of the science awards. Congratulations to Markus Bilz, who received the BAI Science Award 2024 for his master's thesis at FBV entitled: "Improving Option Trade Classification With Machine Learning". New Textbook on Information Systems

Together with Prof. Armin Heinzl (University of Mannheim) and Prof. René Riedl (Johannes Kepler University), Prof. Mädche has published a new textbook for the field of information systems. In addition to the importance of business informatics as a science, the purpose and goal of business informatics as well as digitalization and digital transformation are also discussed.

Information Systems Scholarship

Bachelor's and Master's students of the KIT Information Systems program can apply for the Information Systems Scholarship of the association "Die Wirtschaftsinformatik e. V." until July 31, 2024. The selected scholarship holders will receive a monthly grant of €300 for 12 months from 01.10.2024. This year, the funding will be provided by Schwarz IT KG. We wish you every success with your application.

CHE Master Ranking 2023: KIT with top results in industrial engineering and business informatics

The Industrial Engineering and Information Systems master degree programs receive extremely positive ratings in the current CHE Master's ranking. The "range of courses" category is particularly highlighted, especially for the "breadth of course content", "opportunities for individual specialization in the degree course" and "digital teaching elements". The Master's in Industrial Engineering and Management also achieved excellent ratings in "General study situation" and "Support during studies". In the Master's in Information Systems, KIT scores above average in "Research orientation of the degree program", with positive ratings for student participation in research projects and integration of current research results into teaching.

Erfahre von ehemaligen Studierenden des KIT, welche Wege sie ins Berufsleben genommen haben, was sie dabei unterstützt hat und wie ihr Berufsalltag heute aussieht.
 
In einer moderierten Diskussionsrunde stellen sich die Alumni mit ihren Werdegängen vor und berichten von individuellen Hürden beim Berufseinstieg. Im anschließenden Austausch hast du die Möglichkeit in lockerer Atmosphäre mit den Alumnae und Alumni in Kontakt zu kommen, deine Fragen zu formulieren, Netzwerke zu knüpfen und mit Studierenden in der gleichen Situation ins Gespräch zu kommen. Wir freuen uns auf deine Teilnahme!

Die 2001 ins Leben gerufene Konferenz "Mensch und Computer" (MuC) ist die größte Konferenzreihe zur Mensch-Computer-Interaktion in Europa. MuC bietet Teilnehmern aus Wissenschaft und Industrie eine Plattform für Beiträge und Diskussionen zu innovativen Formen der Interaktion zwischen Mensch und digitaler Technik, zu menschzentrierten Entwicklungsmethoden, interaktiven Anwendungen und anderen Themen im Spannungsfeld zwischen Nutzern, Teams und Communities einerseits und den eingesetzten Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien andererseits. Ziel der Konferenz ist es, innovative Forschungsergebnisse zu diskutieren, den Informationsaustausch zwischen Wissenschaft und Praxis zu fördern, Forschungsaktivitäten und Ausbildung anzuregen und Wissenschaft, Praxis und Öffentlichkeit für die Relevanz der menschen- und aufgabenorientierten Technikgestaltung zu sensibilisieren. Vorwiegend englischsprachige Fachbeiträge und deren Veröffentlichung in der "ACM Digital Library" oder "Digital Library of the GI" fördern die weltweite Sichtbarkeit der wissenschaftlichen Ergebnisse von MuC.
